RABBIT EARS

PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated 26 August 2026

Rabbit Ears collects nothing about you. There is no account to make, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. It looks up television listings from a public database, and that is the only thing it sends anywhere. Everything below is the detail behind those two sentences.

WHAT WE COLLECT

Nothing. Rabbit Ears contains no analytics, no crash reporting services, no advertising and no third-party software development kits that gather information about you. We do not build a profile of you, and we have nothing to sell, share or lose.

There is no sign-in. The app never asks for your name, your email address or any other personal detail, because it has no use for one.

YOUR SHOWS AND RATINGS

The shows you track, which episodes you have watched, your star ratings and your settings are stored on your device.

If you are signed in to iCloud, that data also syncs through Apple's iCloud so it follows you between your own devices. It is held in your private iCloud storage, on your own Apple account, under Apple's terms. We cannot see it, read it or retrieve it, and we receive no copy of it.

You can switch this off at any time in the iOS Settings app, under your Apple Account, iCloud, and then the app list. Rabbit Ears keeps working; your data simply stays on the one device.

Deleting the app removes the local copy. To remove the iCloud copy as well, delete the app's data from iCloud in the same Settings screen.

WHAT THE APP LOOKS UP

Rabbit Ears gets its television data from TVmaze, a public database of shows, episodes and broadcast schedules. When you search for a series, open one, or the app checks what is coming up, it asks TVmaze.

Those requests carry only what is needed to look something up: a show identifier, a search term you typed, or a date. They contain no account, no device identifier and nothing about you, because the app holds none of it to send. Like any web service, TVmaze will see the internet address a request came from; what they do with that is covered by their own privacy policy. Artwork is loaded from the image hosts TVmaze points at.

There is no server of ours anywhere in that path. Nothing you do in Rabbit Ears is reported back to Long Rest Studios.

NOTIFICATIONS

If you turn on the daily digest, Rabbit Ears schedules local notifications on your device. They are written on your device from information already stored there and handed to iOS to deliver. No push server is involved, and nothing leaves your phone to make them work.

PURCHASES

There are none. Rabbit Ears has no in-app purchases and no subscription.

CHILDREN

Rabbit Ears collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. There is nothing in the app that gathers data from children, because there is nothing in the app that gathers data at all.

SHARING

We share no data with anyone, for the straightforward reason that we hold none.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a future version of Rabbit Ears were ever to collect anything, we would say so here plainly and in advance.
